Here’s a wave and sun tattoo that I had the pleasure of working on recently. By keeping the subject matter simple with just 2 elements within this piece, we were able to do the waves at a large size while keeping the over all size of the tattoo relatively small. It’s often very appealing to the collector to try to put alot of subject matter into a tattoo, but there is an awful lot to be said for restraint: a singular or direct concept can still be a complex tattoo design with lots of depth and strength.
This pic was taken immediately after the second session( just 2 sessions to complete) and so there is alot of redness visible here. I’ll get a healed shot of this one in the future.
